Fall! Its coming early this year. Most people are excited. A few are dreading it. I'm in the middle. I love the weather, the décor and the special foods! But I hate what it is implying.....winter is coming next. And winter is not my favorite season at all. And so we close our minds to what is coming next and plunge into the beauty of the present.
I have noticed the beautiful mesh wreaths that so many people are displaying and fell in love with the possibilities it presents. Hobby Lobby was my destination. And was I ever pleased to find the mesh on sale. It ended up being one of those projects I started after the babies were in bed and laughed at my own eagerness. I found a simple-to-follow youtube video to watch on the how-to of mesh wreaths and plunged into my own version of a swag. I wish I had a few pictures to share of the progress but I was too engrossed to think of documenting. Ha! In the end there was enough mesh and ribbon left over to make the two swags for the porch railing also. I was pleased with my first try and eager to hang them up. But once they were in place I was missing my wreath. I had an idea for decorating it but hadn't gotten around to actually doing it yet. So that was next on my to-do list. I had gather pinecones earlier and it didn't take long to hot glue them to the end of some brown ribbons and tie the bunch to the top of the wreath. And then looped a yellow bow for the top and wrapped the tails of the bow around the sides of the wreath. A few pumpkins, a hay bale and a corn shock and I was pleased with my welcoming front porch.
Fall is here. Lets welcome it with beauty!!
Enjoying the Journey,
